BIOS ConfigurationThe Avira AntiVir Rescue System is designed to start from CD/DVD-ROM or USB stick. To start from CD/DVD-ROM or USB stick, you must change the boot sequence in the BIOS. To change the BIOS settings, you must restart the computer. A key must be pressed during the start procedure in order to reach the BIOS. The BIOS usually shows the relevant key on the screen when starting. This is usually the Delete key (abbreviation ‘Del’) or ‘F1’. Press this key to reach the BIOS.
As soon as you reach the BIOS, select the device to be used to start from (first boot device). If you are using a CD/DVD,
select CD/DVD-ROM, while USB stick users should select USB. This setting is often found under the Boot Options tab.
Save the changes in the BIOS and exit. The computer then restarts. Make sure that the Avira AntiVir Rescue System CD/DVD is in your CD/DVD-ROM drive or that the USB stick is inserted.
On some computers you need to confirm booting from the CD/DVD-ROM by pressing a key. The computer then launches the Avira AntiVir Rescue System boot manager.

* Scan all files If this option is selected, all files, irrespective of their content and their file extension, are scanned for viruses and malware. No file filter is used.
